Our New Years Day league fixture against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Steelers was the biggest gate in the clubs history since re-formation in 2015. With upwards of 2,400+ inside the Storm Shelter, all seats and all standing tickets were sold in anticipation of the clash.

Not only did we have a record breaking crowd in person witnessing the 9 goal thriller, we also had a record number of viewers watching our live-stream!

GM Ryan Finnerty; “A major thankyou to all the fans who came out to support us on this historical night. As always, we are looking to push the club forward and your support drives it. We look forward to a successful 2023 and we can’t wait to see you all inside the ‘Storm Shelter’ once again this Sunday.”

Liam Hesketh, Head of Marketing; “At the start of the 21/22 season we came up with a marketing strategy that we believed would push this club forward and reach the wider audience and we are now starting to really see the results of this. We are delighted to have had a record breaking night to begin 2023 and we look forward to many more bumper crowds over the coming months. We are recording higher and more consistent attendances each week and we will continue to build on this moving through 2023 and into 2024.”

MD Jamie Tunstall added; “When we took over the club our aim was to build so we can have nights like this. It was great to see all the hard work from all the staff and the investment at the beginning of the season pay off to achieve a full capacity ‘Storm Shelter’. The atmosphere was electric and we look forward to many more nights like this in the future.“

The excitement doesn’t end there, on #NewYearsDay the club also announced that automation company Robiquity inked a record breaking 3-year deal to become Title Partner through to the end of the 2024/25 season.
