Storm Gives Back!

You can next see the Storm in action on Saturday 8th December against The Nottingham Panthers! Tickets can be ordered online HERE, or by calling the box office on 0161 926 8782, or in person at the box office.

The weekend of 15th-16th December 2018 sees two home games at the Storm Shelter! Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm are delighted to announce that on those evenings, the club will be running two very special events, which will see the club, alongside the fans, giving back to the #Manchester community!

On Saturday 15th December against Cardiff Devils, the club will be hosting their traditional ‘Teddy Bear Toss,’ for the third year running. So, bring your friends and help pack the shelter!

For those of you who don’t know about the Teddy Bear Toss – every fan who brings a teddy bear is to throw their bear onto the ice following Storm’s first goal of the evening. All we ask of you is that the bear is brand new & wrapped in cling-film. The Teddys will be collected and given to the less fortunate over the Christmas period – stay tuned for further updates on this event.

On Sunday 16th December Storm face Belfast Giants. On this occasion, the club will be running a ‘Hockey Fights Homelessness” campaign in partnership with Shelter. Each fan is encouraged to bring a piece of clothing they no longer need that will then be given to somebody less fortunate than ourselves over the Christmas period. Shelter will be present at the game & there will be collection points around the rink to donate all items of clothing, from scarves, to hats, to winter coats! Please note, nothing is to be thrown onto the ice during this game.

Liam Hesketh – Sponsorship & Marketing, had this to say;

“There has been a notable rise in homelessness in Manchester over the recent years. It’s something we need to get together, as the city Manchester and help raise awareness for.

“We have a very passionate fan base and I’m sure this is something they will take to and help a great cause during the Christmas period. Thanks to Shelter for coming on board with this campaign. Hopefully it’s something we can look at doing again during the 2019/20 season!”

We look forward to two very special events at the Storm Shelter during the weekend of the 15th – 16th December as we look to bring some Christmas cheer to people who are less fortunate than ourselves.

This is also your last opportunity to see a Storm game at home before Christmas, so let’s pack the shelter and give the back to the community!

The next Storm home game is  this Saturday 8th December, as they face The Nottingham Panthers for the second time this week, this time to compete for a top spot in the league table!

The club’s OSC are hosting the Storm’s Christmas Party, Tuesday 18th December at Cresta Court Hotel, 19:00 – late. Email events.stormosc@gmail.com to book, or visit the OSC desk under block 113 on match nights.
