PREVIEW: Storm Team up With Shelter for Hockey Fights Homelessness!

Tickets for Storm’s upcoming game against visitors, Belfast Giants can be ordered online HERE, by calling the box office on 0161 926 8782, or in person at the box office.

Last night your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm hosted their annual Teddy Bear Toss, giving back this Christmas, with the teddies going towards the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. Our sponsors MID comms were also around the rink collecting soft toys and donations for the #MISSIONCHRISTMAS appeal.

This evening, Manchester Storm team up with charity, Shelter as we host the first ever Hockey Fights Homelessness event in the Storm Shelter!

All we ask is for spectators to donate an item of clothing they no longer want or wear any longer and donate it via one of the various donation bins around the rink, as we look to tackle the ongoing homelessness situation in Manchester.

Shelter volunteers will be located around the rink this evening and will be collecting everything from warm hats and gloves, to hygiene and sanitary products. So, let’s pack the rink and help give to those less fortunate this Christmas. Read more about the charity weekender here.

We look forward to seeing you all!

BELFAST GIANTS – 16TH DECEMBER, 17:30 FACE-OFF, PLANET ICE ALTRINCHAM

Belfast Giants have had a busy season so far, playing EIHL games, Continental cup games and most recently made it through to the Challenge Cup Semi Final after beating the Dundee Stars 4-2 in the second leg of the Quarter Final on Tuesday (Agg. 12-2).

The last time the Giants visited the Storm Shelter was on Armed Forces Night, kicking off the Poppy Appeal and saying ‘Thank you’ to the First World War generation who served, sacrificed and changed our world. The game went into overtime, with Storm taking a point at home but narrowly missing out on penalty shootout, losing 4-3 in the final minute of play. Expect a highly competitive game this evening and don’t miss your chance to help fight homelessness issues in Manchester by making a donation.

Next weekend, the Storm will face the Giants twice more and the first time away this season, as they travel to Belfast on Friday 21st for a double-header weekend!

One to Watch: Tyler Beskorowany – current number one netminder in the EIHL.
