STORM SIGN FORWARD CRAIG MARTIN!
Manchester Storm are excited to announce the signing of Canadian forward Craig Martin, most recently of the Jacksonville Icemen (ECHL). A product of Trail, British Columbia, Martin brings a wealth of experience and offensive prowess, having excelled in various North American leagues, including the ECHL and NCAA. Standing at 6’0″ and weighing 181 lbs, Martin is known for his work ethic, speed, and hockey IQ, making him a versatile asset on the ice.
Martin spent the last several seasons with the Jacksonville Icemen, where he has posted impressive numbers. In 230 ECHL matches, Martin has scored 68 goals and provided 98 assists, with a standout 25-goal season in 2021-22 highlighting his time in North America.
Before that, he played college hockey with Quinnipiac University in the NCAA, further honing his skills as a strong two-way forward. His freshman year in the NCAA was a success, as Quinnipiac were crowned NCAA champions and laid the foundations for a successful transition to the professional game. In 134 NCAA games, Martin produced 27 goals and 48 assists, totalling 75 points.
Head Coach Mike Flanagan had this to say about adding more competition for places in the matchday roster:
