With less than 24hrs hours to go before your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm take to the ice for the first time in the 2017/18 season, fans at the OSC’s Meet the Players event, as well as those watching via the Storm’s Facebook Live stream, were the first to see the brand new Manchester Storm Home, Away, Challenge Cup, AND #Pride jerseys for this coming season. The jerseys, which were modelled by the players at the event, are produced once again by Rhino Sports, and all have a different design.
This seasons Home shirt, which features a traditional (yet unique) striping pattern, is once again predominantly black, yet sees the return to the full-colour front logo. The Bee of Manchester is located once again in neck insert, and we have added the “Ruby 41 Logo” from last season, to remind players of the past legacy. All jerseys produced AFTER Mike Morin’s number 15 has been retired, will also feature his number. The Home shirt also utilises “Storm Grey” for the first time. This colour, developed for the Vegas Golden Knights by Adidas and the NHL, will feature heavily on branding this season.
The Away jersey for this season, which is based on the AHL Calder Cup champions, Grand Rapid Griffins, jersey, features a traditional style, with modern stripping. The Bee of Manchester is located once again in neck insert, and the “Ruby 41 Logo” from the home shirt is again added to the right sleeve of the jersey, to remind players of the past legacy. On top of this, all replicas of the away shirt will come with lace-up neck, AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.
After last seasons world famous purple Challenge Cup shirt, the club took a decision to go with another colour, and utilise the #StormGrey & template of the NHL’s newest franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, whilst also adding a Storm “flair” to it. The Bee of Manchester is located in neck insert (as with all Storm Shirts since the start of last season), and the “Ruby 41 Logo” from the home shirt is again added to the right sleeve of the jersey, to remind players of the past legacy.
All three shirts also feature a large “silhouette” of the Storm logo on the back, a popular design element from the famous “millennium” jerseys of the original era!
Finally, and as a surprise, your Go Goodwins MAnchester Storm also launched their highly anticipated #Pride jerseys for the Pre-Season game against the Sheffield Steelers on Sunday (5:30pm at SilverBlades Ice Rink Altrincham).
The jerseys, which has been approved by Manchester Pride, is loosely based on the Montreal Canadians jerseys. While the Bee of Manchester will be located once again in neck insert, and main sponsors Go Goodwins will be located on the front. All other advertising was decided to be removed, to allow the focus to be on the #PrideColours! With the main colour being white, this will be the first time since reforming, that the Storm will wear white at home. The jersey is currently limited to player jerseys only, and details on how to purchase these will be released on Storm’s social media within the next 24/48 hours.
You’ll soon be able to pre-order your Home, Away, & CC jerseys via the Storm Sports Store, both online and in the rink! Details will be announced in the coming days!
