Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the addition of forward Liam Blackburn, most recently of Fife Flyers. 

After a solid junior career, the 26-year-old forward had four impressive years at University of New Hampshire (NCAA), rubbing shoulders with several current NHL players. Blackburn made 144 appearances for the Wildcats amassing 81 points (35G 46A) between 2016-2020. 

The Canadian forward would then swap academia for the professional game first playing for ERSC Amberg (Germany4) before moving up the ranks to EHF Passau Black Hawks (Germany3). The increase in competitiveness would not hinder Blackburn’s substantial points production, as in this division he produced 92 points (38G 54A) from 58 matches.

Head Coach Matt Ginn had this to say; “I’m excited to add Liam to our group. He’s a smart player with good offensive instincts that can contribute on both sides of the puck. He’s got some familiarity with the league and will provide some depth up front for us heading into the second half of the season“.

The Storm will be Blackburn’s fourth roster of the campaign, as 13 SPHL and 9 EIHL appearances have led the speedy forward to the Shelter. The ex-Flyers skater will join-up with squad in Manchester this weekend.
