Yur go Goodwins Manchester Storm came away from a close game at Planet Ice Altrincham with a 3-2 win over the Fife Flyers, a result which sees them remain top of the Elite Ice Hockey League!

A scoreless 1st period, which saw both sides test each others defenses, was soon forgotten with a 4 goal second period.

The Storm finally got themselves on the board with 13:26 left to play in the 2nd period, when Dane Byers slotted home from a Beca pass, before Ciaran Long grabbed the Storm a second with an assist from Shane Bakker, just 26s after the Storm’s first went in!

The Flyers fought back hard, and were rewarded for their efforts when Jorgensen grabbed the visitors first with 2:25 to go in the 2nd period. Young then tied things up 2-2 with 1:36 to go in the period.

Storm continued to battle hard in the 3rd, with the Flyers struggling on every chance the Storm had. Mike Hammond launched a cannon of a shot into the back of the net with 12:39 to go in the 3rd period to give Storm the eventual winner.
