Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm came away from their #WinterClassic game against the Guildford Flames, with a 4-1 victory at Planet Ice Altrincham, giving the Flames first defeat in 5 games!

Storm’s Ciaran Long grabbed an unassisted short-handed, goal in the 7th minute of the first period, to put the home side ahead – and cause over 1000 teddy bears to land on the ice for Key103’s #MissionChristmas. Guildford’s Liam Stewart equalized in the 16th minute however, to send the two teams into the first intermission all square.

From there on, the Storm began to mount pressure on the visiting Flames, outshooting their opponents 13-6 during the second period, with Mike Hammond restored the Storm’s lead in the 35th minute, much to the delight of the bumper crowd!

Hammond was on target again two minutes into the third and final period, to make it 3-1 to the Storm, before Matt Beca rounded out the victory in the 57th minute with a beautiful goal!
