Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm secured a point against the Milton Keynes Lightning, a result which was still enough for the Storm to move back into 1st place in the Elite League.
Mike Hammond put the Storm ahead after just two minutes in the 1st period, but a Guillaume Doucet powerplay goal in the seventh minute ensured the two sides would enter the first intermission level.
Doucet grabbed his second powerplay goal of the night just 28-seconds into the second period, before former Storm player Paul Phillips added another powerplay goal for the Lightning just over three minutes later.
However, the Storm produced a quick response, with Ciaran Long finding the back of the net in the 26th minute, before Matt Stanisz equalised for the Storm. Storm reclaimed the lead just under five minutes into the final period, with Matt Beca grabbing the goal, but the visiting Lightning took just 35 seconds to get back on level terms, with Francis Verreault-Paul providing the goal.
With neither side able to produce a winner in regulation the game moved to overtime, where Verreault-Paul proved to be the hero for Milton Keynes.
Storm’s next game is this coming Saturday, when they face the Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday the 18th of November. Tickets are on sale via the website, the box office, and over the phone on 0161-926-8782
