The Dundee Stars snapped a 7 game losing streak to beat your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm at the Dundee Ice Arena on Sunday night, by a score of 5 to 3.
The Stars Gabriel Lévesque put the home side ahead after just under five minutes with a power-play goal, but your traveling Storm hit back through the period, thanks to Dane Byers, who also converted on the powerplay.
The scoring in the first didn’t stop there, with Dundee going ahead again just over two minutes later, with Jimmy Jensen finding the back, but the Storm were quick to respond, with Mike Hammond grabbed a second power-play goal from a Beca and Pitt assist.
Storm came out strong in the second period, outshooting the home side 13-5, but it wasn’t until late in the period that they got their reward, with Scott Pitt finding the net in the 39th minute! The Stars rallied in the third period however, with Lévesque getting involved again to link up with Marc-Olivier Mimar to setup Riley Stadel for the equalizer.
Four minutes later the Stars re-gained the lead, with Lévesque again on hand to provide the finish and collect his fourth point of the night, before former Storm forward, Adam Harding, rounded out the victory for the Stars with an empty net goal in the final minute to earn the Stars their first victory in 7 games.
Storm look to regroup and focus on this coming weekend’s HUGE games against the Nottingham Panthers at Planet Ice Altrincham on Saturday 16th December, and away to Coventry Blaze on Sunday 17th.
