The Manchester Storm received news on Friday that General Manager, Neil Russell, has been offered a fantastic new opportunity with Manchester City FC and would be moving on from his current role.

The Storm ownership group had the following to say:

“Firstly, what an incredible opportunity for Neil. As an ownership group we would like to thank Neil for all of his hard work here these past two years with the Storm and we wish him all the very best in his exciting new role.”

Neil Russell had the following to say:

“It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I will be moving on from my GM role with the Manchester Storm in 2 weeks’ time. I have been offered an incredible opportunity in a senior management role with Manchester City FC that I simply could not turn down.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped me these past two years at the Storm, it has been the most incredible time in my life and filled me with so much pride to see what we have achieved as a club in such a short space of time.

I won’t be a stranger at the Storm Shelter, so I look forward to seeing the team in action at various stages this upcoming season and watching the growth of the club continue with very solid foundations having been laid these past two years.

There are so many people to thank, so I will be putting out a personal thank you post later today. I wish the new ownership group, players and staff all the very best this upcoming season.”
