The Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm fell 4-6 tonight to the Dundee Stars in a closely fought Elite Ice Hockey League encounter.
The first period saw the Dundee Stars go 2-0 up over the Storm within the first 10 minutes of play. Storm’s Patrik Valcak scored a beauty for the Storm’s only goal of the period & his 7th of the season, after 14 minutes, to half the deficit at the time to 1-2. However the Storm continued to make errors, and the Stars capitalised upon these closing the period out 4-1 up over the Storm.
The second period saw the Storm begin to fight back, but not before the Stars added another to their tally during the 13th minute of the period. The Storm were able to cut the Stars lead to 2 by the end of the second however, thanks to goals by Ricard Birzinsh and Patrik Valcak.
The third and final period saw the Stars restore their 2 goal lead with 20 seconds gone in the period, but the Storm kept on coming and were finally rewarded with goal number 4 for the night by Matt Caria, his 14th of the season.
Final score: Manchester Storm 4-6 Dundee Stars
