The Manchester Storm have been inundated with people asking after the well being of popular forward, Eric Neilson, after last nights game where he took a puck to the eye.
After undergoing laser eye surgery first thing this morning, it is confirmed that Neilson had a torn retina in 2 places & that he was very lucky the damage wasn’t more severe. He is to rest up for the next week and will undergo further tests next Monday.
Everyone wishes Eric all the best in his recovery. We would also like to thank the Storm medical team and in particular Dr Matt Heywood for their prompt and excellent medical care.
Eric will obviously be missing from the lineup this evening in Cardiff along with Darian Dzyirzinski, Patrik Valcak & Adam Harding. Both Darian & Adam are expected to be back in the lineup next weekend for our home double header vs Braehead and Fife.
