EIHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: DALLAS EHRHARDT!
With four goals and two assists in Manchester Storm’s four-point weekend, defence-man Dallas Ehrhardt is the official EIHL Player of Week 19.
The Storm forward said of his team’s weekend: “We definitely knew coming in to this weekend we needed to have a big one, especially at this time of the season. It was nice getting the results we did, considering everyone else seems to be picking up points each night, too. As I found out from last season here, this is usually the time when teams start a big push for the playoffs, so it was huge for us to get all four points.”
Manchester have been in fine form since 2019 began, losing only in Cardiff. According to the form guide, they’re a top three team over their past five games. “I think we’ve come back after New Year fresh, we’re playing a bit more relaxed out there and maybe not grabbing on to our sticks as much. We’re playing a bit looser, and capitalising on our chances,” said Ehrhardt. “It was fun to get four goals. In Nottingham we missed at least two other tries on the empty net and couldn’t get one in, so it was nice to finally see it go!”
The Storm are back in action on Wednesday night already, hosting Guildford in the live TV game. The Flames scored 13 goals in two high-scoring games with Coventry over the weekend, and they’re a side Ehrhardt and his teammates will not be taking lightly. “They’re always a tough team to play against because they can put up numbers on you. It’ll be our first TV game this season and the guys are looking forward to it.,” added the 26-year-old. “Playing at home we always feel like we have the advantage, and we’ll look to try and dictate the game. The fans always get behind us and these are fun games to be a part of.”
