Manchester Storm forward Darian Dziurzynski has been named the Elite League Player of the Week award after a terrific performance last weekend.

He scored two goals and added two assists against the Cardiff Devils in the Storm’s 4-2 victory in their home opener.

Dziurzynski said: “It is a good feeling to get the award, but the personal accomplishments they don’t happen without the guys around you.  I am playing with Mario Trabucco and Matt Bissonnette and we gelled really quickly.”

“It was a tough game, Cardiff are a good team and we as a team wanted to come and make a statement to the league, and let everyone else know that we have good players and we can play with the top teams in the league.

“We are still learning everyday, I think the coach has done an unbelievable job in filling our dressing room with the right guys, everyone has bought into their roles and that is part of the reason why we were successful last weekend.”
