Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm pulled off a comeback overtime victory against title chasers, the Nottingham Panthers, at Planet Ice Altrincham this evening to help keep the team up in the top half of the table.

A goalless first period, saw the Panthers come out the more physical side – with Storm having to face wave after wave of attack. However, as time went on in the game Storm began to get into the game and chances for the home side began to mount.

However, the 2nd period saw the Panther’s Robert Farmer finally brake the deadlock with seven and a half minutes played in the second period with, a powerplay goal. Despite the goal, the Panthers were on the receiving end of some fantastic plays by the Storm, who continued to push hard for an opening goal.

With four minutes played in the 3rd period, Dallas Ehrhardt tied the game up with a diving shot on goal, much to the delight of the Storm fans. With the clock ticking down in the game, both sides continued to test the others keepers, but no further goals were scored in regulation.

52 seconds into the overtime, Matt Beca slotted home to send the home fans wild and secure an important 2 points for the Storm, ahead of tomorrows trip to the Coventry Blaze.
