Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm staged a third-period comeback here at SilverBlades Ice Rink Altrincham, as we beat the Belfast Giants in front of a packed arena by a score of 2-1!

The Giants came out strong in the first period, and with only 4 minutes gone of the game, Jonathan Ferland gave the visitors the lead with a shot over the shoulder of Clemente. The play flowed end to end at the arena, but no further goals were scored in the first 20, despite plenty of chance for the Storm.

Penalty kills were the story of the second period, with Storm having to kill several within the 2nd 20 minutes, as the Giants tried their hardest to extend their lead. However, the Storm were able to kill every penalty, and keep it a one-goal game heading into the final period.

Storm took to the ice fired up in the third period, and eventually got on the board after numerous attacks on the Giants net, when local lad, Paul Swindlehurst, slotted home with 10 minutes to go, before Captain Jay Rosehill scored the game-winning goal two and a half minutes later to send the Storm Shelter wild!

Storm now look ahead to next weekend, a “Home & Home” affair against the MK Lightning, starting on the road on Saturday at Planet Ice Milton Keynes, before returning home to SilverBlades Altrincham on Sunday. F/O is at 5:30pm, and tickets can be bought online, over the phone, or in person at the box office!
