“You may have seen on our website that Planet Ice and Silver Blades have created a business opportunity for potential new ownership of both Manchester Storm and Milton Keynes Lightning franchises.

Planet Ice & Silver Blades have made it clear that this decision is in order to allow Silver Blades & Planet Ice brands to focus on their core business of operating ice rinks, which are expanding further to include new facilities in Bristol and Leeds, as well as a temporary ice rink in Slough.

Our current ownership has shown outstanding backing of our franchise over the past 2 seasons, and we have them to thank for bringing the Manchester Storm back.

In this time, the franchise has shown exceptional growth both on and off the ice and created an exciting and viable business. The Manchester Storm management are fully supportive of this decision and see it as an opportunity for the Storm to continue to thrive and grow over the coming seasons.

The Storm brand is strong, and I’m sure we are going to see exciting times ahead, so it’s very much business as usual until such times as potential new owners come on board.

In the meantime we are all looking forward to the final 3 home games of the regular season in March, plus hopefully a play-off home game too in early April, then we get ourselves ramped up for another busy summer as we head into our 3rd season in the EIHL! Exciting times ahead!!”
