The playoff push continues for your Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm this Saturday 25th February as we take on the Edinburgh Capitals in a 7:00 pm faceoff at the Storm Shelter.

It’s another big game for both the Storm and the Capitals as both teams look to secure a playoff place. Edinburgh find themselves in 10th place in the Elite League table, with 29 points from 42 games, 8 points out of the playoff places but with 3 games in hand over 8th-placed Coventry. Manchester are sitting in 7th in the table, having taken 38 points from their 42 games. Only 1 point separates the Storm & Blaze, with Dundee only a further point behind in 9th. It’s looking like this race for the playoffs could go down to the wire, and every game is key for the 4 teams involved.

Last weekend: Manchester had a home-and-home series last weekend against the Sheffield Steelers, while Edinburgh had 2 mid-week away games at Coventry and Sheffield. Manchester went down 3-1 away from home on Saturday in front of a large travelling contingent, Darian Dziurzynski getting the solitary Storm goal on the night. This was followed up by a tough 4-3 overtime loss at home on Sunday, Patrik Valcak and Jack Prince grabbing the goals that took the game into the extra period. An assist for Darian Dziurzynski saw his point streak extended to 11 games. Edinburgh travelled to Coventry and Sheffield needing points to keep up the pressure on Dundee and Coventry, but went down 4-1 and 5-2 on Tuesday and Wednesday night, respectively. Ian Schultz grabbed a goal in both games, with Garrett Milan scoring the other.
