On Sunday 23rd October at our home game against the Edinburgh Capitals, your Manchester Storm will once again take to the ice in pink jerseys to help raise funds for The Christie as we “Pink the Rink”!
The month of October is the International Cancer Awareness month, and since 2015, Manchester Storm has teamed up with The Christie, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe, to help raise raise funds and support for the Manchester based centre.
Across the world, a pink ribbon symbolises cancer awareness, which is why Storm used the colour for its first “Pink the Rink” jersey in 2015, and again on the 23rd of October this year. See what happened last time:
This seasons limited edition “Pink the Rink” jerseys have been specially designed for the night, placing The Christie in prime location on the jersey, along with using the names from this seasons warm up shirts, which also promote The Christie, on the arms.
As with last season, Storm will also be offering fans the chance to purchase a special edition pink t-shirt, with all profits from the t-shirts donated to The Christie! The aim is for EVERYONE to wear pink on the night, so purchase your t-shirts now! Priced at £11 each, and available in both male and female versions, the t-shirts can only be purchased online by clicking HERE.
So wear pink & dig deep as the Storm go to battle with its toughest challenge yet, but together: WE WILL WIN!
