HEATLEY EXPLAINS WHY HE SIGNED FOR STORM

Season Tickets can be ordered online or by calling the box office on 0161 926 8782, or in person at the box office.
Manchester Storm’s latest signing Mark Heatley is looking forward to the test of playing in the Elite League after eight years of plying his trade in Germany.
The powerful centre turned 31 earlier this month and is anticipating the challenge of joining a new club and living in a new country.
“I have been in Germany, in the same league for eight years and a change of scenery and playing in a new league is something I am excited about,” said Heatley.
“I’ve heard good things about the Elite League and I’ve seen some good players, guys I’ve come up against, playing there. So when the opportunity arose I was really interested.
Heatley will play a key role for the Storm and at this point he’s still not entirely sure what to expect from his first experience of British ice hockey.
“I am curious to see what the league is about. I’m sure it’s going to be different to the DEL2 and I’ve heard it’s more physical, but I think the level is pretty similar and so it shouldn’t be too much of an adjustment.”
