Manchester Storm 2 Cardiff Devils 5
Your Go Goodwins Coaches sponsored Manchester Storm lost 5-2 this evening to the Cardiff Devils in front of a packed Storm Shelter, as the Devils continued their push for the Elite League title.
The first period began incredibly well for the Storm as Derek Roehl bagged his third goal in Storm colours, thanks to a wonderful pass from Patrik Valcak which saw the Storm Shelter erupt with noise!
The Cardiff Devils however were not going to allow the Storm all the fun, and Chris Culligan was able to tie things up with 5 minutes to go in the 1st. The Storm were on the back foot for the remainder of the period, and Andrew Hotham was able to capitalise on the Devils possession to put them 2-1 up just before the end of the period.
The second stanza saw the Devils solidify their control over the game with 2 goals from Jake Morissette early in the period, to all but win the game. Despite Vinny Scarsella scoring his 30th goal for the Storm in the 3rd period, the Devils were able to bag their 5th and final with 7 minutes to go in the 3rd.
A huge thanks to all of our amazing fans for what has been an incredible season. We’ll see you all in August for the 2016-2017 season! #Storm
