JAKE DURFLINGER COMES TO MANCHESTER!
Manchester Storm are thrilled to confirm the addition of forward Jake Durflinger, most recently of the Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL).
The American-born skater made 165 USHL appearances (32G, 48A) from 2013-2017, quickly establishing himself as a talent to watch. Durflinger consistently demonstrated his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively within major junior hockey. As a result, he signed with the University of Denver (NCAA) in 2017.
It was in his rookie campaign that Durflinger tasted success, as his collegiate team were crowned NCAA Champions (alongside former Storm player Ryan Barrow). The American forward extended his studies at Merrimack College (NCAA) for a fifth year before transitioning to the professional game in 2022.
Durflinger joins the Storm with 104 ECHL games, recording 19 goals, 28 assists, and 194 PIMs. His hard-nosed, two-way style and excellent hockey IQ make him a signing with high potential in the EIHL.
Head Coach Mike Flanagan had this to say about signing Durflinger:
“Durflinger is a tenacious style of player that goes about his business with plenty of professionalism. He has a very high compete level and plays with a junkyard dog mentality.
The reports back we have had on him are all extremely positive. He is typically liked by his teammates and we are confident he will fit into our group nicely.”
