‘wonderkid’ Connor Lee registers first EIHL Point!
On Saturday’s game against the Glasgow Clan, the youngest player in the league, our very own Connor Lee, scored his first point, on a primary assist for the goal scored by a rushing Joe Morrow in the second period.

His name was read out to rapturous applause inside the Storm Shelter, in what was a truly special moment for the kid, who became one of the youngest point scorers in the league’s history. A feat that has already etched his name in the history books. However, many believe that Lee will achieve far greater accolades in his career:
“He’s done a great job, he’s improved, he’s getting better and better. He’s earning more responsibility out there and he’s got the trust of the coaching staff and his teammates now, so we’re really excited for him” – Head Coach Matt Ginn.
Connor Lee has been awarded for his efforts all season with this point last weekend. Being just sixteen years old, playing in a league with men is no easy task, yet the kid doesn’t look out of place on the ice, he looks composed, confident, and ready each shift. He’s up and running now in the points tally and there’s confidence in the group that the floodgates have opened for him.
Here’s what you can expect from Manchester’s newest wonderkid:
Speed. The kid has pace. “He’s an unbelievable skater, when he gets to top speed it’s tough to keep up with him” – Head Coach Matt Ginn. Connor’s speed makes him a huge threat in transition. Playing in a team that loves to hit teams on the breakaway, his natural speed lends itself to this counter attacking transition play we have come to know and love.
Hockey IQ. Matt Ginn has spoken about how far Connor’s reading of the game has come inside a season. His ability to be part of an offensive play, with learning to jump in at the right moments, positioning and anticipation have all come on leaps and bounds since the beginning of the season.
