A fantastic bounce back performance from the Storm saw them take a very a richly deserved 4-0 victory over Fife Flyers.

A tremendous and relentless effort by the Storm was eventually rewarded through captain Cam Critchlow – who opened the scoring 15th minute. After a barrage of shots were thrown on the Fife net – it was an opportunistic rebound conversion that ended the deadlock.

The opening stages of the middle period were punctuated by several minor penalties from both sides – in the initial stages. Until a well-worked team goal for the hosts was completed by Merchant after 29-minutes.

A heavy-hit by Pouteau saw Murphy drop the gloves as a result and this added bite evidently boosted the Storm. Another timely shot and rebound from Critchlow gave the hosts their justified third, a little over two minutes before the end of the final.

The visiting Flyers began to throw caution to the wind – in the search of their first goal of the game. This cavalier approach, in the closing stages, was punished by well-placed Hinam snipe after 53:38 to effectively end any hope of a late relive from Fife.
