Manchester Storm are excited to announce the acquisition of Tyler Hinam, most recently of Maine Mariners (ECHL). 

The 24-year-old forward represented Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the major junior QMJHL division from 2016-2020. This four-year tenure would be a hugely successful one as the Huskies won the CHL Memorial Cup and QMJHL Championship in 2018-19. 

In 241 QMJHL appearances, Hinam had 155 points – 62 goals and 93 assists before signing with Acadia University of USports. 

An interrupted spell at university led to Hinam entering the professional game earlier than perhaps planned, as the forward joined Maine Mariners in January 2022.

The opportunity that presented itself to Hinam was seized with both hands – in 73 matches the Canadian had 19 goals and 27 assists. This consistent play led to Belleville Senators (AHL) taking the forward on-loan for a brief spell last season. 

Head Coach, Matt Ginn, commented on the addition of Hinam: “Tyler is a north-south winger that plays a heavy game. He skates very well and can be a physical force when he gets in on the forecheck. Tyler goes to the dirty areas and that’s where he scores a lot of his goals. He is also great along the walls and in the corners due to his high compete and battle level. I am thrilled to be able to add Tyler to our group.”
