Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the signing of young British goaltender Alex Oldale, most recently of Blackburn Hawks (NIHL 1). 

The 18-year-old shot-stopper will be making his debut campaign in professional hockey with the Storm after learning his craft within the Sheffield youth system.

From 2017-22, Oldale played through the age groups within the Yorkshire-based club making 86 junior level appearances from u15’s to u20’s. 

Oldale would make the GB u18’s squad in the 2021-22 season before signing with Blackburn Hawks in the summer of 2022. 

In his first full season, Oldale played 20 times for the Hawks registering 4.45 GAA and .902 SV%. 

Matt Ginn, Head Coach, had this to say about the young goaltender: “I’m happy to bring Alex onboard. He’s a talented, young goalie that really earned this opportunity with us. He trained with us last season and impressed the players and the staff with his ability, work ethic and compete level. I look forward to working with Alex and helping him to continue to develop at the pro level.”
