Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the return of British forward Michael Korol.

The battling forward made a good impression on the coaching staff in his rookie campaign in professional hockey – with his tireless workout and net front presence proving a consistent attacking threat. In a limited role, Korol had 5 goals and 3 assists in 50 EIHL appearances – with his ability enabling Matt Ginn to roll four forward lines on most occasions.

Prior to joining the Elite League, the dual-national spent four-years studying and plying his trade in the NCAA hockey system. Korol captained his side in the 2020-21 season on eight occasions before the pandemic interrupted his senior year.

Head Coach, Matt Ginn, commented on his recruit: “Mikey had a very good first year pro with us last season. He is an outstanding person that immediately became a fan favourite. He is an honest player that always does what is asked of him and takes pride in the little things. Mikey took big strides on the ice as the season went on and became an important piece of the penalty kill. His work ethic is terrific and I am excited to see him continue his development this season.”

British Forward Michael Korol added: “Manchester is a great city and I’m excited to be back for another season. It’s an honour to wear the Storm jersey and it’s something I don’t take for granted. Last season I built some great relationships with the staff and fans, which is something I really value. I want to continue to grow as a player and Manchester is the best fit for me to do that. I’m already counting down the days until we are back in the Storm Shelter!”
