Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the signing of forward Samuel Tremblay, most recently of Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).  

Tremblay developed in the highly competitive the major junior hockey league within Quebec – representing Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and Gatineau Olympiques between 2012 and 2016. During this four-year spell, the forward made 170 appearances and produced 50 points (20G 30A).  

Following on from this, Tremblay would head to McGill University to combine his studies with hockey. The forward spent six years within academia and represented his university on 84 occasions during which he accrued 60 points (31G 29A), with the latter two years curtailed largely due to the global pandemic.  

Upon the completion of his education, Tremblay signed with Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) for the 2022-23 campaign. The forward went on to make 63 appearances for the franchise and produced 29 points (9G 20A). At 5ft11 and 84kg, the forechecking forward will be well-suited to the small-ice of the Shelter, as well as his physical attributes, Tremblay will offer significant versatility to the matchday line-up.  

Head Coach, Matt Ginn, offered his thoughts about the new addition to his roster: 

“I’m excited to sign a player like Sam. He had a very good first year pro in Wheeling last season and was very productive especially in the second half. Sam is a high character player and teammate who has worn a C many times in his career. I look forward to adding Sam to our group.”

New signing, Sam Tremblay added: “I am super excited to come play overseas for the first time and join the Manchester Storm to push for a championship. I’m really looking forward to getting there and meeting the team. I can’t wait for September”
