Jeremy Brodeur logged his first Elite League shutout as Manchester Storm beat Nottingham Panthers 2-0 at the Storm Shelter, cutting the gap down between the two teams to just two points.

Over 1,900 fans packed into the Shelter for another strong crowd for the Storm, but they had to wait some 27 minutes to see the game’s opening goal. With Albin Lindgrin’s hooking penalty winding down, Tyson Fawcett drove the net and poked home his own rebound after Peyton Jones’ initial save to put the Storm ahead at 27:13 on the powerplay.

Storm had chances to kill the game off early in period three, and while the Panthers pressed a late Jeremy Welsh minor put the visitors down a man for much of the final 2:37 of the game. Michael Korol was binned for interference with 24 seconds left, but with only 18 remaining Chase Harrison fired in on the empty net from the faceoff circle in his own zone to ensure Manchester would take the points.
