Your Goodwin Group sponsored Manchester Storm are pleased to announce this season’s annual Air The Bear game in partnership with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity!
This event will take place on Saturday 14th December 2019 against visitors, Coventry Blaze. This is a well-known event around Christmas time in the world of ice hockey, and the club looks forward to holding this special occasion once more.

What is Air the Bear?
Air the Bear – also known as the Teddy Bear Toss, is an event where every fan who brings a teddy bear then throws their bear onto the ice following the home sides first goal of the evening.
AHL team Hershey Bears Teddy Bear Toss 2019: First goal of the evening sees a World Record of 45,650 stuffed toys thrown onto the ice.
When did this tradition begin?
The tradition began in 1993 with WHL team, the Kamloops Blazers. The first Teddy Bear Toss happened on the 5th December 1993. It was organised by the Marketing Director, Don Larson and it was the first goal of the evening from Brad Lukowich.
Please make sure your bear is brand new and wrapped in cling-film. This is to avoid any cases of infection when these wonderful gifts are donated.

The soft toys will all be donated and given to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity over the course of the Christmas period. Stay tuned for further updates on when our players will be visiting the hospital in December.
The last few season’s Air The Bear games were a great success, helping make thousands of children happier and feel comforted.
