Manchester Storm v Sheffield Steelers – Sunday 10th November – Planet Ice Altrincham – F/O 17:30
This Sunday your Goodwin Group Manchester Storm face visitors Sheffield Steelers, this time for some EIHL action.
We Will Remember Them
This Sunday is a time to reflect on those who served our country both old and new, those who have made sacrifices for us, and to remember the fallen. It is expected to be a busy night, and we recommend those in attendance to turn up early to join us as we mark our respects.
Prior to Sunday’s faceoff, there will be some words from our Match Night Announcer, Aden Millen.
A Bugle player will also perform The Last Post. We ask everyone in attendance to join us as we hold our two minutes silence following The Last Post. The National Anthem will follow the silence and is to be performed on the Bagpipes.
Corporal Simon Flores, who was a member of Royal Green and Rifles and Raymond White – a member of ex22 Cheshire Regiment will be attending and will do the ceremonial puck drop during this Sunday’s game. Also in attendance will be GMP Armed Forces Champion Jim Jones.
Medals, pin badges and uniforms are encouraged to all in attendance for the game. This Sunday is a day to remember those who made sacrifices for our country in the past and present day.
There will also be donation boxes and some poppies located in Storm Sports and the OSC stall under block 113 for anyone wanting to make a donation.
The Visitors
The last time the teams faced each other was a mid-week Challenge Cup game in Sheffield just last week. It was a feisty encounter between both sides, resulting in Gagnon and Davies being served up bans by DOPS.
Earlier this week Steelers forward, Vallerand also received a ban by DOPS. He will however, be back in the lineup this Sunday after facing his ban against Cardiff Devils on 9th November.
