The Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the arrival of American D-man Ryan Trenz, for the 2017/18 season.

The 25-year-old joins the Storm following a season with the ECHL’s Alaska Aces, following 4 years with Northern Michigan of the NCAA. The 5’11” D-Man will wear the number 5 on his jersey, and can be found on Twitter using the handle @rtrenz5!

Storm coach, Ryan Finnerty, is delighted to have Trenz for the upcoming season, commenting;

“All the references i have acquired on Trenz have been very positive. He has been described as a very mobile and intelligent two-way defenseman that will help our transition game. He shows a lot of leadership qualities, is a great skater and is a skilled puck-mover. He’s an instinctive defender with an active stick and his compete level is always high, which is something all coaches look for in a player. I’m really excited to have Ryan Trenz come to Manchester this upcoming season, and I look forward to working closely with him.

Commenting further on how recruitment is going, Coach Finnerty said:

“I’m really happy with where we are at right now, we’re close on a couple of other guys and i’m speaking to players and agents daily to ensure we slot the correct pieces into the jigsaw to fill our remaining positions ahead of the new season. I think the Storm fans are going to be happy when they see this team on the ice come late August, I know i’m really excited by it all!

Storm General Manager, Neil Russell, was also thrilled to secure the former Alaska Aces player & the overall recruitment to date , commenting;

“Firstly, we’re delighted to welcome Ryan Trenz to the Storm franchise. He is someone that i know Coach Finnerty was very keen to have on board here for next season, and all the information picked up on the player has been very positive. We all look forward to welcoming Ryan to the Storm come August.

Finner is working tirelessly on the recruitment front to ensure we get the right players into the Storm set up next season. The recruitment aspect is such an important job and it’s one that requires a lot of phone calls to agents, coaches, former players, and contacts in general to ensure every box is ticked on each player. Ryan is an experienced recruiter and knows exactly the type of team he wants here next season, and I think it’s fair to say we are well on the road to achieving that goal. I’m sure Storm fans are as equally excited seeing the pieces slotting into place. Oh, and don’t forget to pick up your season tickets today. It’s going to be an awesome season ahead. #6GamesFree ”
