In the overall history of the Manchester Storm, only one player has ever had the biggest honour a hockey team can bestow upon them, the retiring of their number.

On November 12th 2017, your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm will bestow that honour upon another true legend of the team, and we want you ALL to be involved, as we raise Mike Morin‘s #15 to the rafters here at Planet Ice Altrincham.

At our game against the MK Lightning, Storm will raise the banner for “Kermit” prior to face-off, and will then play the game in a special one off jersey, the design of this will be revealed at 6pm TONIGHT!

As well as the banner raising, the club will also be honouring our armed forces, with it being rememberance Sunday. More details to be revealed about this in due course.

The raising of the banner, which was announced at the OSC’s End of Season awards last year, is to honour Morin for his time playing for the Storm, and also for his continued involvement in the team, as the clubs Assistant Coach.

Head Coach Ryan Finnerty couldn’t be more thrilled to have Mike honoured by the club, commenting;

I’ve known Mike for little over 5 months now, and it’s clear to see why the fans and players repect him so much. His dedication to the team, even with a busy fulltime business, is second to none. He’s well respected by the team and our fans base and I really hope we can pack the shelter to honour his dedication to the Manchester Storm IHC
