Despite sickness, injuries, and a short bench your Go Goodwin’s Manchester Storm were able to grind out an excellent 4-3 victory over one of the leagues powerhouses, the Nottingham Panthers, on a cold bonfire night & climb to 5th in the Elite League!

The first period started out as well as it could for Pacha’s men, as Matt Bissonnette put Storm ahead with the opening goal of the night, as he slipped the puck through the 5-hole of Wiikman in the Panthers net. Minutes later Taylor Dickin doubled the Storms lead to send the Shelter to it’s feet for the second time that night! The Panthers were able to get onto the board however, when Matt Carter sneaked one past Clemente to end the first 2-1 in favour of the home side.

The second period started just as well as the first for the Storm as Cody Cartier made it 3-1 to the hosts less than five minutes into the period. Man of the Match Taylor Dickin then got his second of the game, to give the Storm a three goal lead. The Panthers’ Eric Lindhagen cut the Storms lead however, despite the Storm & goal judge all claiming the puck went under the net at the side, making it a 4-2 game with three seconds remaining in the second.

The third period saw the Nottingham Panther step up a gear, and this pressure was rewarded when Alex Nikiforuk was able to get a third goal for Nottingham with good time still remaining in the period. Despite the Panthers pulling their netminder and going 6-on-5 for the last 2 minutes of play, the Storm were able hold on to take the victory, and claim our first league win over the Panthers since the re-birth of the club!
