Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm put Saturday’s loss to the Coventry Blaze very much behind them, as they came away from their game this eveing, against the Milton Keynes Lighting, with a convincing 6-2 win.

The first period couldnt have started better for Coach Ryan Finnerty’s men, as Luke Moffatt was able to slot home past Miika Wiikiman in the Lightning’s net, with just 26 seconds gone in the game! The tempo was fast, and end to end hockey followed, as both teams went close to grabbing the next goal. However, that honour would call to Denny Kearney, who slotted home for the visitors with just over 8 minutes gone in the 1st. With the scores tied 1-1, end to end hockey resumed.

MK took the lead for the first, and only time, of the game with 7:45 gone in the 2nd, when Carl Hudson scored an unassisted power-play goal, past Mike Clemente in the Storm’s net. Undeterred by the scoreline, Storm continued to press hard for an equalising goal, and just over 2 minute later, Matt Bissonnette converted on the power play to tie the game up 2 -a-piece. Exactly 4 minutes later, Linden Springer converted off of a Gerard Hanson assist, to give Storm the lead once again.

The atmosphere was electric at the Storm Shelter, as the clock ticked down to the end of the 2nd period, with plenty of fans cheering the Storm on!

6:15 was all it took in the 3rd period for Storm to add to their total, with Ciaran Long grabbing a beautiful goal, assisted by Storm Captain Rosehill, to double the lead over the visitors. Minutes later, Mike Hammond grabbed his first of the night, as the Storm were on a 5-on-3 powerplay, before Matt Beca converted, short-handed, to give the Storm their 6th and final goal of the night.
