Thanks to a Scott Pitt powerplay goal, your Go GoodwinsManchester Storm extended their winning run to seven games, after securing the 2 points, in a 4-3 comeback home win over Coventry Blaze.

Five goals in the opening period seemed to set the tone for and it was the home side who struck first blood as Mike Hammond netted on a breakaway, to send the crowd – including over 150 members of the NHS Blood and Transplant service, to their feet! However, Coventry weren’t behind for long, as Gaelan Patterson found space to blast an effort past Storm’s Mike Clemente.

The visiting Blaze went ahead shortly after, when Jordan Pietrus broke forward shorthanded, finishing his effort to put them 2-1 up. Despite the deficit, Storm battled hard for a second of the night, and Hammond turned assist maker to feed stand-in Captain, Luke Moffatt, to equalised from close range. The Blaze’s Marc-Olivier Vallerand restored Coventry’s lead a minute later with a finish at the back door to end the period a goal up on their hosts.

Moffatt’s second leveled things up in the latter stages of the second period, with Pitt edging your Storm ahead on the powerplay six minutes into the third with the goal that secured the win.

The result leaves your Storm a point off Belfast in second place, ahead of two big road games for Ryan Finnerty’s side against the MK Lightning and Guildford Flames, before returning home on Saturday 24th against the Cardiff Devils!
