Your Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm travel to Guildford this Saturday in a huge Patton Conference clash against the Flames that faces off at 6:00 pm.

The maths is simple for the Storm, any sort of victory will see them crowned as Patton Conference champions. A Flames victory would see the conference title race continue, however they’d have to beat Coventry twice to have a chance on winning the conference title. After the Devils secured the league title last night against the Giants, the Storm are still in the hunt for second place. Belfast are 5 points behind the Storm and have played a game more, while the Flyers are a further 2 points back in fourth position. Two more victories this season would secure second place for Manchester.

The Flames and Storm have faced each other 7 times in the league this season and are well acquainted with one another. Storm have had the upper hand in the head-to-head this season, winning 5 games to Guildford’s 2. Both of the Flames victories have been at home, and Storm required a shootout to secure their only victory at the Spectrum. The Flames also picked up a point at the Storm Shelter early on in the season. Mike Hammond has been averaging 2 points per game against the Flames, picking up 4 goals and 10 assists in the 7 meetings. Matt Beca is also in double figures, scoring 6 and adding 4 assists. In nets, Mike Clemente has a 89.3% save percentage against the Flames turning away 183 shots, a little under 26 saves per game. It’s no surprise to see John Dunbar, Jesse Craige, and Calle Ackered top scoring for the Flames against the Storm; they’ve picked up 10, 8, and 7 points, respectively. Chris Carrozzi has started the majority of the games in nets, his save percentage is 89.2% across 6 games. He has been sharing the workload with Brian Stewart who returned from injury in late-January.

One to watch: Ben Davies made the Team GB training squad this week, and is having a good debut season with the Flames. He is 1 goal away from equalling his highest EIHL goalscoring tally.
