What an effort from the lads tonight in Cardiff. You know what that performance was? Storm hockey, that’s what.

100% effort from every single player, against a formidable opponent who have secured the league, Challenge Cup and Conference title in the past few weeks. We blocked shots, backed down to nobody, and played with intensity and passion. All the hallmarks that Omar and I wanted when we sat down last summer to rebuild our squad leading into our second season.

We are 1-0 down in essence, with 3 periods of hockey to play on OUR ice. In OUR barn. The players will bring the passion & intensity tomorrow, YOU bring the noise. Ask every opposing player what barn they least like coming into, and they’ll nearly all to a man tell you “the Storm Shelter”. Why? Simple, it’s smaller than what they’re used to, things happen quicker and it’s harder to adapt if you’re not playing on it each week. The other reason? YOU, the fans. When the Storm Shelter is rocking, (ONE)……our players feed off it……….(TWO)……..it’s intimidating for opposing teams when it’s like that. So, again, BRING THAT NOISE, GENERATE THAT ATMOSPHERE the whole 60 minutes, and help this second season Storm team achieve something many would never give us a sniff at, in making the BIG DANCE in Nottingham next weekend for the final 4 of the play-offs.

It’s a straight forward message from me to ALL Storm fans, let’s pack out the Storm Shelter tomorrow. Bring your friends, family and work colleagues. Introduce them to the best sport on the planet. Play-Off hockey is something else to witness, it’s that bit faster, it’s that bit more intense. It’s DO or DIE stuff.

Oh, and if you haven’t got your tickets yet, WHY NOT!? Get them now. It looks like it’s going to be another busy one. How about sell out number 4 of the season tomorrow, and 5th in our first 2 seasons? Let’s make it happen. Not bad for a second season franchise, eh?
