Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm came away 4-2 victors on Saturday evening, after a feisty Elite League game against the Edinburgh Capitals.

The first period couldn’t have started out better for the Storm, who came flying out of the traps in the opening minutes of the game, and it was “Super” Mario Trabucco who blasted past Fullerton in the Capitals net with just 55 seconds gone to send the Storm fans wild! And it was just 16 seconds later that the fans were in raptures again as Cody “The One To Watch” Cartier doubled the Storms lead. The Capitals were on the back foot for the remainder of the period, with the Storm pushing hard for a third goal & controlling large portions of the game.

The second period saw the Capitals come out much more motivated, beginning to work away at the Storm’s defence, and whilst on the power player, their hard work was rewarded with a goal… only for the officials, after a discussion amongst themselves and with the goal judge, to wave it off as a no goal. The Storm continued to push hard for a third goal and with his parents in the crowd, HRH Jack Prince delivered with an excellent goal to put the Storm 3-0 up, and very much bossing the game.

Moments into the third period though, the Capitals finally got their opening goal when Hromas popped one past Clemente to deny the Storm keeper a shutout! The goal gave the Caps some urgency and belief, and the play moved end to end and it was the Capitals who once again got a goal when MacDougall got the visitors 2nd of the night to make it a one goal game & tensions within the Storm Shelter began to heighten. With 10 minutes to go the play was fast and furious, with both teams going hard at it for the next crucial goal. With the Storm Shelter in full voice, Mario Trabucco delivered the Storms 4th and his second of the night, after some nifty passing from captain Trevor Johnson & returning forward Matt Bissonnette, to secure the 2 vital league points for the Storm!

Storm now head on the road tomorrow to Dundee in pursuit of another 2 league points, then next Sunday 23rd Oct, it’s a really special night here at the Storm Shelter, as we PINK THE RINK for the Christie’s Charity! More info to follow this week about what is sure to be another enthralling game of ice hockey, so get your tickets NOW!
