The Go Goodwins Manchester Storm succumbed to a disappointing 6-3 defeat on the road, to the Dundee Stars on a cold Sunday night north of the border.

The beginning of the first period saw both sides battling hard for the puck with both keepers working hard to keep the puck out of their respective nets. However, it was the Dundee Stars who got on the board first when Brett Switzer lifted a puck over the pad of Mike Clemente. The Storm were determined to hit back quickly, and duly did just that when just nineteen seconds Adam Harding slotted the puck over the line for the tying goal.

The Second period saw the Storm come out strong with shot after shot hitting the pad and blocker of the Stars keeper. The Storm efforts however were not enough as it was the Stars who got their second goal first when Switzer grabbed his second just before the half way mark of the period.  A third goal for the Stars followed shortly afterwards as Kevin Bruijsten lifted the puck into the roof of the net whilst on a powerplay. Following this, the Storm were put on the back foot and could not find a way through the Stars defence.

Despite starting the 3rd period on the powerplay, the Storm were still unable to find away through the Stars defence.  Heavy hits were laid by both sides as they battled for control of the puck but once again it was the Stars who got the advantage when Felix Antoine Poulin grabbed the hosts forth goal of the evening.  Spurred on by their travelling fans, the Storm were able to finally break the Stars defence once again when Matt Bissonette smashed the puck past Fallon in the Stars goal to cut the lead to two.  However, the Stars soon regained their three goal lead when Joey Sides of the Stars launched a laser of a shot past Clemente.  End to end hockey resumed and a minute before the end of the period Storm cut the Stars lead back to two as Mark Heatley went one on and one and poked the puck through the Netminder’s five-hole at the second attempt.  With forty-two seconds left on the clock, coach Omar Pacha made the decision to pull Clemente from Storm net to give the man advantage, however this proved to be a fatal move as the Stars were able to score with 0.02 seconds left on the clock with Switzer grabbing his hat trick.
