Your Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm take to the ice this Sunday (5.30pm) 23rd October for the annual #PinkTheRink night in support of The Christie. Edinburgh Capitals are the visiting team in this Gardiner Conference clash, just 8 days since the last match up between the two teams, with Face Off at 5:30 pm.

Since last Saturday’s game, where the Storm ran out 4-2 winners thanks to goals from Trabucco x2, Cartier, and Prince, Edinburgh have been very busy facing Coventry, Dundee, and Cardiff. The Capitals immediately bounced back from Saturday’s loss in Altrincham with a 4-1 victory of Coventry the following day, with goals from Dobron, Milan, and Fyodorov securing victory, and with netminder Travis Fullerton turning away 34 of 35 shots. Edinburgh then welcomed Dundee to Murrayfield on Wednesday, where 4 goals in 8 first period minutes helped them on the way to a 5-1 victory. Tipoff, MacDougall, Vorobyev, and Johnston contributing the goals, with another impressive display from Travis Fullerton who made 38 saves. Last night they travelled to the Cardiff Devils, where they lost 5-2.

In comparison, the Storm have had a quiet 8 days since their last victory over Edinburgh, the trip to Dundee being their solitary game. That night ended in a frustrating 3-2 loss for the Storm, with goals from Johnson and Phillips not enough to secure victory in what what was a tight game. These results see the Storm sitting second in the Gardiner Conference with 5 points from 6 games, with Edinburgh just a point behind but with 2 games in hand. With teams taking points off each other, the Gardiner Conference is already looking tight and all games are valuable in the hunt for silverware and the chance to secure one of the 8 playoff places available.

The game tonight also sees the Storm wearing a one-off Pink jersey, and there will be plenty of opportunities for fans to support The Christie throughout the game. Keep your eye out for Jon Hammond & Eric Neilson who will be sporting newly dyed pink hair for the game too!

ONE TO WATCH: Former NHLer Jared Staal has made quite an impression for the Edinburgh Capitals this season, equally adept at scoring goals and providing assists, the Ontario-native is the Caps top scorer this season.

We are expecting a large crowd today, so please purchase your tickets NOW & please get to the rink in good time…..
