The Belfast Giants are the next visitors to the Storm Shelter as they face the Go Goodwins Sponsored Manchester Storm this Sunday 11th December at 5:30 pm.

This is the second meeting between the teams this season, and the first of 3 in 9 days as the teams subsequently go head-to-head in Challenge Cup action. Before the cup, however, there are 2 valuable Elite League points up for grabs. Belfast are chasing the league-leading Cardiff Devils and need the points to stay in the hunt for the title, whilst Manchester are chasing Belfast and trying to gain an advantage in a close group of teams in the middle of the table.

The first Storm-Giants matchup resulted in a 5-1 victory for Manchester. Goals from Prince, Trabucco, Swindlehurst, and a Dziurzynski double secured the points from the Storm, Colin Shields scored the solitary Giants goal, with Mike Clemente saving the other 35 Belfast shots.

Both teams were in action yesterday, Belfast taking on Sheffield at home and Manchester making the trip to Fife to face the Flyers. Belfast were victorious at the SSE arena, winning 2-1. At the Fife Ice Arena, Manchester shutout the Flyers 2-0. Goals from Cody Cartier & Darian Dziurzynski were enough to secure the vital points for the Storm.

Both teams have had players in red-hot form coming into this game. Prior to the weekend, 6 players from the teams had notched up at least 5 points in the previous 5 games, including Matt Bissonnette (6 points), Mario Trabucco (7 points), Alex Foster (5 points), and Colin Shields (5 points). Both teams have quality throughout the lineup and this is not one to miss.

ONE TO WATCH: Chris Higgins is another who had scored 5 points from the 5 games prior to the weekend, and is one of the most skillful players in the Elite League.
