The Manchester Storm are delighted to welcome former NHL heavyweight, Jay Rosehill, to the Manchester Storm for season 17/18, on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old arrives at the Storm after spending last season with the Braehead Clan where he wore the “A” on his jersey, accumulated 176 penalty minutes and put 22 points on the board for the season.
Head Coach Ryan Finnerty was delighted to capture Rosehill’s signature again and had the following to say about getting his man;
“Jay was a key guy for me last season and was a primary target of mine to get into Manchester. Everyone looks at Jay’s resume and they see the penalty minutes that he’s amassed over his career, but there is so much more to his game than the toughness. Yes, he brings physicality and will hold opposition players to account when needed, but he contributes offensively, skates really well and also provides space for his fellow linemates, playing the way he does. He is a highly respected professional, a leader in the locker room, and I’m delighted that Jay has decided to join the Storm”.
Rosehill has played over 100 NHL games in total, playing for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers, to run alongside over 400 American League games too.
Storm General Manager, Neil Russell, was equally as delighted with the capture of Rosehill,
“What a great first signing announcement for all Storm fans! Jay is someone we saw quite a lot of last season when he played against the Storm for the Clan, and he is a player that commands a presence on the ice. Ryan tells me that he is also a great guy around the club and in the community, which fits into everything that we are about here at the Storm. The wealth of experience Jay will bring to the club will be massive, I have no doubt whatsoever that he will become a firm fan favourite here in Manchester next season with the way he plays the game, and we’ll see the stands filled with Rosehill jerseys!
If any businesses or individuals would be keen to learn about a fantastic “full player sponsorship” package for Jay Rosehill, please email [email protected].
