Manchester Storm player-coach Omar Pacha has called upon the fans to pack the Storm Shelter and roar them to glory on ‘Super Sunday’.

Nottingham Panthers are in town for Storm’s last regular season game of the season with one of the final play-off places still very much up for grabs.

And Pacha reckons a packed Silverblades can very much play its part in helping his team over the line to qualify for their first ever play-offs.

“We’re calling it ‘Super Sunday’ now,” he said. “Eric Neilson found that nickname and we hope to see another sellout.  It’s just good to have the support the fans give us.

“They’ve always been loud and proud.  Sunday will be the biggest game of our franchise history so far so I expect our crowd to be close to sell out and make a lot of noise for us.

“We’re focussed on Sunday and I think we play better in front of a packed barn.  We’re really looking forward to it.

“We have a chance to qualify for the play-offs as a new franchise and that’s the most important thing for me.  It’s just getting this team there and having that morale boost going forward.”

Pacha looked back on Wednesday’s 3-1 win over the Panthers that’s kept their play-off hopes alive that saw them creep back into the top eight at Coventry Blaze’s expense.

And the coach revealed there was an air of confidence heading into the game on the back of Sunday’s 6-3 loss to Dundee Stars.

He added: “It was a great result for the team.  We needed the two points, went on the road and came back with a win.

“Any team that goes to Nottingham is facing a challenge.  They’re a team that’s usually very strong at home so to go to their building and have a gritty road game is very good.

“Not only for the points, but as a team performance moving forward, it really gives us something to build on in the last game.

“We had a good feeling the night before and Neiller (Eric Neilson) and I had a meeting and we talked about the last few weeks.

“We like the energy of the team and the practice, plus the way the guys reacted after a tough loss on Sunday, we knew the guys would be ready going to Nottingham.

“Confidence is huge and from a standings point of view, it’s enormous.  Now we have to focus on Sunday and putting in a big home performance.”
