Coach’s Corner – 23/11/15

Hello Storm fans,

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.

As for us, we obviously have mixed emotions after the weekend.

First off Saturday, we started the game really strong. We wanted to get off to a good start and we did, as we came flying out of the traps and put the Clan under a lot of early pressure.

Unfortunately, we let our foot off the gas and we started making costly defensive mistakes. The Clan are a really good team so when you make those kind of mistakes they make you pay cash. It was extremely disappointing and to say I was frustrated post game, is an understatement. When you’re 4-1 up at home, we should have seen that game out.

On Sunday, the boys responded really well and showed a lot of character. We played a simple road game and stuck to the systems all night. Our goalie, Zane Kalemba, played another solid game, and our team defense was a lot better for the 60 minutes.

All the boys want to take this opportunity to thank all the fans that came to Saturdays game but also our away fans on Sunday. It was great to see so many fans on the GoGoodwins supporters bus too, all the team really appreciate it. You guys were extremely loud all weekend, and I know the boys enjoyed it a lot.

We will work hard this week to correct the mistakes made on Saturday and take the positives out of our win against Coventry to prepare for this upcoming weekend.

See you all on Saturday at the Shelter when we take on the Dundee Stars. 18.30pm Face Off. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring some work colleagues along…..hockey night with the Storm is exciting & it’s only going to get even better as our team really start to find our feet in the league.

Thanks,

Pach
