Coach’s Corner – 12/10/15

Hi Storm fans,

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to this Saturday’s game at home vs Coventry.

Looking back on last weekend & in particular our first game vs Edinburgh, I thought we played a pretty decent home game. We generated a lot of chances but we really couldn’t find the back of the net, which was immensely frustrating. We got the lead, but unfortunately we weren’t able to finish the Capitals in regulation. Zane and Luke both came up big for us in the shootout and we finally got the 2 points, which was a big relief.

Our second game of the weekend saw us visiting the Caps in Edinburgh. We had a really good first 10 minutes and then for some reason we were making some mistakes that we were making in the first few weeks of the season. The second period saw us do good things but we again conceded a goal with less than a minute left in the second. It really hurt us bad and we couldn’t find a way to get that 5th goal to send the game to overtime. We generated many chances again but we couldn’t find that timely goal. This week he will have to focus on good defence and make sure to clear the front of the net for Zane.

The boys can’t get too down on themselves, we’ll re-group as a team and have a few good practices before we set off for Glasgow on Thursday morning to play the Clan.

Everyone is excited to be back on Saturday at the Shelter for the game against Coventry. They’re a team starting to get going, and we know that we will have to bring our A game come the weekend. We have a job to do on Thursday first though, and then we will come ready against Coventry.

Just finally, thank you to all the fans for your superb support as always. Let’s get the shelter rocking on Saturday night. We want this place to be fortress for opposing teams to come into, so bring a work colleague, a family member or a friend along with you to the game on Saturday! 18.30pm Face Off!

Cheers,

Pach
